The Frederick Gunn School
Coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12
Frederick Gunn was a pioneering educator, courageous abolitionist, leader in the Underground Railroad, and rugged outdoorsman. He was everything you'd want in a school founder — and more. The Frederick Gunn School (Washington, CT) required a complete rebrand to better honor the legacy of the school's one-of-a-kind founder.
Project Goals
Redefine all aspects of the school's public-facing persona and their extensive communication program.
Jessica's Role
As the lead design director for this account, Jessica worked at great lengths to rebrand the school from creating logos, campus signage, team uniforms, to admissions and capital campaigns. Her main goal was to activate Mr. Gunn's values within the school, but also articulate the school's sense of purpose in today's marketplace and reassure people about the strength of the school's academics. In addition, she collaborated with vendors and school staff to ensure the brand was displayed successfully across all media, on-campus and online.
A year following the rebrand, The Frederick Gunn School's admissions KPI saw +10 points yield improvement after a decade at the same number, +17% domestic application growth, +23% growth in full-pay students, and the highest enrollment record to date.
